چکیده

Neodymium iron boron magnets (NdFeB) play a critical role in various technological applications due to their outstanding magnetic properties, such as high maximum energy product, remanence and coercivity. Production of NdFeB is expected rise significantly the coming years, for this reason, demand rare earth elements (REE) will not only remain but it also increase even more. The recovery has become essential satisfy recent years. In present study from new promising process flowsheet proposed follows; (1) acid baking performed decompose magnet extraction efficiency Nd, Pr, Dy. (2) Iron was removed leach liquor during hydrolysis. (3) production REE-oxide using ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method. Recovery mixed via method between 700 °C 1000 innovative step comparison traditional combination precipitation with sodium carbonate thermal decomposition at 850 °C. synthesized REE- oxide powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). Morphological properties phase content revealed scanning electron microscopy (SEM) Energy-dispersive (EDX) analysis. To obtain size particle distribution REE-oxide, search algorithm based on an image-processing technique executed MATLAB. obtained particles are spherical sizes 362 540 nm. experimental values compared theoretically predicted ones.

MAGNETIC VISCOSITY IN NdFeB MAGNETS

The relaxation of the magnetization is calculated for isotropic and anisotropic magnets. For NdFeB magnets, the dependence of Sv on texture, above room temperature, is roughly consistent with the model, while the NdDyFeB magnets show no dependence upon texture.

Exchange-coupled nanoscale SmCo/NdFeB hybrid magnets

Nanoscale hybrid magnets containing SmCo5 and Nd2Fe14B hard magnetic phases have been produced via a novel ‘‘in-one-pot’’ processing route. The grain size of the processed bulk composite materials is controlled below 20 nm. The refinement of the nanoscale morphology leads to effective inter-phase exchange coupling that results in single-phase like magnetic properties. Energy product of 14 MGOe ...

The Pulse-Thermal Processing of ndFeB-Based nanocomposite Magnets

Pulse-thermal processing (PTP) based on high-density plasma arc lamp technology has been utilized to crystallize melt-spun NdFeB-based amorphous ribbons to form magnetic nanocomposites consisting of Nd 2 Fe 14 B and α-Fe phases. After applying suitable pulses, the NdFeB-based ribbons were developed with hard magnetic properties. The highest coercivity can be obtained for ribbons with a thicknes...

Extraction and separation of neodymium and dysprosium from used NdFeB magnets: an application of ionic liquids in solvent extraction towards the recycling of magnets

A procedure for the efficient extraction and separation of rare earths and other valuable elements from used NdFeB permanent magnets is presented. In a first step, an iron free leachate is prepared from an used magnet using nitric acid. Cobalt is separated through a liquid–liquid extraction in aqueous nitrate media using as organic phase the ionic liquid trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium nitrate ...
